Mexico Team Leader
Global Volunteers service programs are usually managed by on-site staff who live in the communities we serve. Most are nationals who were either born or raised in the host country. Your Mexico Service Program team leader is Country Manager Carl Granger.
Carl and his family have been living in Mexico for the past seven years. Carl is a Canadian national, and he has been living in the Queretaro area for the past five years managing the local office of an organization called Global Education Consultants. GEC organizes international study programs for Mexican students and it focuses mainly on sending these students to European schools for the study of French and other European languages. Prior to that Carl was based in Mexico City where he managed the international admissions office for the University of Montreal. In addition to his job with GEC, Carl is a French professor at the Universidad Tecnologica de Queretaro, one of our host universities in Mexico.
Our country managers have served on one or more volunteer teams, and each year are required to complete our intensive two-week training seminars in Minnesota. They're experienced in managing diverse groups of people, and are formally evaluated by each volunteer team. County Managers must achieve an established level of performance in order to continue leading Global Volunteers teams.
You'll receive contact information and a welcome letter from Carl approximately four weeks before your service program begins. |
