Care For At-Risk Children

Big hugs, toothless smiles, bright coffee-nut eyes beaming "love." Their struggles are many... poverty, disabilities, and even homelessness. But you can make a lasting diVolunteer with Children! Ecuador photo.fference in these young lives. Global Volunteers works with vulnerable infants and youth worldwide. You can care for physically - and mentally-disabled children, some who have been abandoned, and "at-risk" teens. Often no special skills are required, as volunteers are needed to listen to, play, read, exercise and share time with the children. These are great family opportunities: Teens can work in some communities with toddlers and young children.

The need is expansive, and long-term, so your opportunity to make a significant difference through service is likewise immeasurable. Read details on caring for at-risk children around the world.

"These children are going to grow up to be the teachers and governors and the police of their country. They're going to live in and have an impact on the same world my grandchildren will live in. I want that world to be a good world. Some told me that I would have done more good by sending the money I spent on the trip directly to Romania. I don't think much of it would have filtered down to the children who need it most. But I do think the kids that we worked with will remember for the rest of their lives that they were hugged."
