Care for Children in Brazil: In northern Brazil, warmth is found not only in the bright coastal sun, but also in the bright, inviting faces of the Bahian people, especially the children. However, because of poverty, many Brazilian children are not able to get a proper start in life. Our host partner, Santa Casa de Misercordia, helps economically impoverished children fulfill their nutritional, hygiene and educational needs though a sunny, engaging daycare center. Global Volunteers and Santa Casa work together to provide preschoolers and kindergarten students food, uniforms, books, classroom materials, and instructional assistance. Here's where your dollars and your compassion can make a real difference. By contributing to the Brazil Sponsorship Program, you become a prominent part of the growing, long-term success of these students' lives. Your commitment is less than $10 a week, and is fully tax-deductible.
Here's How it Works: Each year, for the cost of just one small take-out pizza per week or a monthly dinner for two, you can provide the direct support needed to help children of Santa Casa Daycare in Salvador, Brazil to thrive. You can care for a group of children each year until they graduate from Santa Casa. Would you enjoy supporting a classroom this way? When you complete your sponsorship application, we'll send you background information about the children of your Brazilian classroom, and update you on news and events of Santa Casa. And, by continuing your sponsorship each year, you can witness the students' growth and development, and the changes in the host community.
