Hundreds more live in very sub-standard conditions with large, poor families. Your tax-deductible contribution of $42 per month supplies nutritious food, medicine, clothing, health care, school supplies and adult supervision...vital for one one child to have a healthy start in life. Meanwhile, our ongoing teams of volunteers provide love, nurturing and a vital human touch.
Here's How it Works: Each year, for the cost of just one small take-out pizza per week, or a monthly dinner for two, you can provide the direct support needed to sustain one child of Chennai. You'll learn her/his personal story and receive a recent portrait-style photo. We'll keep you updated with yearly progress reports and news about the facility we serve. By renewing your sponsorship each year, you become invested in your sponsored child's growth and development, and learn about her/his community. Further, your on-going support enables future volunteer teams to contribute their compassion and practical help so the children continue to feel loved, safe, and secure.

Our host is dedicated to providing the best services they can afford, but their resources often fall short. That's where your support becomes so vital. Our Development Partnership: Global Volunteers works in partnership with local hosts to address the alarming plight of abandoned and impoverished children living on the fringes of society. These facilities provide shelter, food, and a sense of family to children who have no home, or no safe place to go while their parents work. Our commitment is to help ensure that the our hosts can continue to provide places where children can learn and grow into capable adults.
